The Lebanese Diaspora and Tayyar USA sent a letter to over 480 Members of Congress welcoming the formation of Lebanon's new government and urging the U.S Government to continue its support for Lebanon and its army. In the letter, The Diaspora also congratulated President Aoun and Prime Minister Hariri for their tenacious efforts in overcoming various political obstacles and forming the new national unity government.In response to the ill-founded condemnations of the government that were mentioned in the LIC statement of January 30, the Diaspora expressed its strong belief that the new Lebanese government will maintain the solid U.S.-Lebanese bilateral relations, Lebanon's national accord, and guide the country towards economic reform and prosperity. The letter elaborated the tough economic burdens of Lebanon, highly accentuated by the presence of 2 million Syrian refugees, and supported Lebanon's work towards a safe and dignified return of all Syrian refugees to their homeland. Furthermore, it was relayed to Members of Congress that, contrary to claims conveyed by other factions, an overwhelming majority of Lebanese living in the U.S. and Lebanon fully support the new government. Additionally, the Diaspora stressed the importance of the U.S. aid to Lebanon and its army, reflective in its successful fight against terrorism and in conclusion, it exhorted the U.S. Government to continue supporting Lebanon; the only democratically elected government in the region.
الولايات المتحدة، ٨ شباط، ٢٠١٩– رحّبت الجالية اللبنانية والتيّار الوطني الحرّ في الولايات المتحدة بتشكيل حكومة لبنان الجديدة في رسالة وجّهتها الى اكثر من ٤٨٠ عضواً في الكونغرس الأميركي ناشدت فيها الدولة الاميركية بالإستمرار في دعمها الفعّال للبنان. كما وأشادت الجالية بجهود الرئيس ميشال عون ورئيس الوزراء سعد الحريري في تخطّي كل العقبات السياسية وتشكيل حكومة وحدة وطنية توافقية بإمتياز، مؤكدةً ان اللبنانيّين في لبنان وفي دول الإنتشار يؤيدون الحكومة وبأغلبية ساحقة.
وردّاً على ما ورد في بيان المركز اللبناني للمعلومات من ادانةٍ للحكومة الجديدة وانتقادٍ لإداء الرئيس عون وكتلته، أكدّت الجالية انّ الرئيس عون والحكومة الجديدة على الطريق الصحيح لإعادة إنعاش إقتصاد لبنان، والمحافظة على سيادته، وتأمين العودة الآمنة للنازحين السوريين الى وطنهم، مشيرةً الى تداعيات النزوح السوري على اقتصاد وبيئة وأمن لبنان. في الختام، تمنّت الجالية ان يستمرّ الدعم الأميركي للبنان وسيادته وجيشه.
