The singer took a moment during her concert in Chicago to say she is praying for R. Kelly.
CHICAGO - Erykah Badu received mixed reactions during her concert after the singer said she is "putting up a prayer for R (Kelly)."
While performing at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Badu briefly discussed the allegations made against R.Kelly by several women in the Lifetime docu-series Surviving R.Kelly.

"See, that’s not love. That’s not unconditional. But what if one of the people that was assaulted by R. Kelly grows up to be an offender, we gonna crucify them? I mean how do we do this? Just something to think about”, said Badu.
According to concertgoers the Tyrone hitmaker's comments were received with cheers from the crowd, while a large majority of people booed her and accused her of siding with Kelly.
Badu has responded to the backlash on Twitter and said loving someone does not mean you support their actions.
"I love you. Unconditionally. That doesn’t mean I support your poor choices."
