The Seat of Dunkely is a “path to Peter Dutton’s victory,” says former Labor senator Stephen Conroy.

Mr Conroy’s comments come as voters in Dunkley prepare for the by-election.

“Peter Dutton has to win a seat like Dunkley,” he told Sky News Australia.

“This seat is a path to Peter Dutton’s victory.

“If he can’t win it on the back of twelve interest rate rises, a cost-of-living crisis, refugee boats turning up … if it can’t win a seat like Dunkley with that backdrop, then Peter Dutton is going to struggle to credibly argue he can win the next election.”
