Scott Morrison ‘owes an apology’ to Australians over his secret ministry

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says former prime minister Scott Morrison owes an apology to Australians for “undermining democracy”.

Mr Morrison was forced to defend his decision to secretly swear himself into five ministerial portfolios while in government as he faced a censure motion on Wednesday morning.

“He came up with a different explanation today. If only he was asked,” Mr Albanese told the parliament on Wednesday.

“To blame the media and everyone else.

“It was a slippery slope that undermined the functioning of this parliament. That undermined our democratic institutions that this House has a responsibility to act on.”
