Liberal candidate for the seat of Mulgrave Michael Piastrino says he will go "toe to toe" with Daniel Andrews at the upcoming state election as Victorians have "had enough" of the Premier.

Speaking to Sky News host Rita Panahi, Mr Piastrino said he will continue to "step up" until Daniel Andrews is removed from the Mulgrave seat – a seat which the Victorian Premier has held since 2002.

"He needs to understand that Victoria has had enough," Mr Piastrino said.

"I want to make a change – I want to make a difference.

"And as a Liberal candidate, I stand firm with the Liberal team – they're an amazing team to be part of."

Mr Piastrino said he's "not backing down one bit" and that he will go "toe to toe with Daniel Andrews".

"Myself and a lot of people – in fact, the whole of Victoria – want Dan removed.

"It is a battle of David and Goliath."
