Palaszczuk’s ‘hare brained’ land tax scheme has ‘run into a brick wall’

over 1 year in news

Sky News host Chris Kenny says Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has “run into a brick wall” with her proposed land tax.

“The Sunshine State planned to look at the interstate holdings of any Queensland property holders and increase their property tax according to what they held in other states,” he said.

“New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet arced up about this and declared there was no way his state would share its property records with Queensland.”

Mr Kenny said when Ms Palaszczuk attended National Cabinet it looked like she “might have got the message” as the plan was suddenly scrapped.
