‘A lot of misinformation’ about the Indigenous Voice to Parliament Chris Kenny

almost 2 years in news

Sky News host Chris Kenny says many conservatives are “urging people” to reject the Indigenous Voice to Parliament before they even know what it is.

“There is a lot of misinformation about this advisory body,” Mr Kenny said.

“First, it is not a third chamber: It would be an advisory body, and only on matters directly related to Indigenous people - and its advice would not be binding.

“Second, it is not divisive: It is Indigenous Australians having a say on laws and policies that directly involve them … It just gives Indigenous Australians a fair go.

“Thirdly, it is not symbolic.

“Grassroots Aboriginal communities will be able to tell the parliament what laws and policies are needed to help educater children, protect families, improve health care and law and order, and generate jobs and prosperity.”
