A formal report into the Partygate scandal has found Boris Johnson’s staff were “insulting toward custodians” in a damning reflection of the culture of Downing Street, says UK political strategist John McTernan.

Mr McTernan said “one of the revelations” from the report handed down by senior public servant Sue Gray into the parties held at Downing Street was the treatment of cleaning staff and custodians.

“The treatment of the staff is becoming a really big issue, particularly as the cleaning staff were made to come into work,” he said.
