Election result ‘not a dramatic result for Labor’

Former Brexit leader Nigel Farage says the election results were “not a dramatic win for Labor”.

“The moral of the story is that once conservative governments stop being conservative, they lose,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.

Mr Farage said conservative parties win when they “galvanise those” who are left-leaning but have a strong sense of country.

“This is a chance for the Australian Liberal Party to rethink itself, to understand what it is, to move away from being big state, pro-lockdown and all the rest of it,” he said.

“If they do that, they can come sweeping back at the next election.”
