An active shooter was shot and killed by an officer at San Antonio International Airport on April 15, police said. San Antonio police said the gunman stopped outside an airport terminal and started shooting towards the terminal and an officer there. The officer returned fire, hitting the suspect who was then taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the officer involved in the incident “saved a lot of lives.” The shooter had a full box of ammunition and was shooting a 45 calibre shotgun “indiscriminately” at the terminal, McManus said.
