PM outlines travel aim for vaccinated Australians

about 3 years in news

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Australians still stranded overseas who are properly vaccinated could return via home quarantine as part of the next step towards Australia’s reopening.

Mr Morrison flagged his first goal is for vaccinated Australians to be able to travel overseas for reasons such as work and isolate at home upon their arrival.

He also hopes this could be applied to returning residents in a bid to free up the country’s hotel quarantine system.

National Cabinet will meet on Monday under a war-like footing to try to fix the problems facing Australia’s vaccine rollout and will consider setting up mass vaccination hubs for people over 50 by the middle of the year.
