NSW One Nation Leader Mark Latham says the party’s candidate for the Upper Hunter by-election, Dale McNamara, is a “genuine success story”.

The by-election so far has focussed on the future of coal and mining in the state, given the area has the highest concentration of coal jobs in New South Wales.

Mr Latham said the One Nation candidate is a “legend in Singleton”.

“40 years of experience in the coal mining industry, manufacturing, businesses, agriculture, equine, tourism, hospitality, he is a genuine Australian success story,” he told Sky News.

“Someone who comes from very humble origins, self-made man, born and bred in the electorate, and able to represent all the economic interests in a very diverse electorate.”
