One Nation leader Pauline Hanson says she was surprised Annastacia Palaszczuk is set to open the borders to some states while excluding Victoria, but says the Premier is still set to face backlash from struggling Queenslanders.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the state’s borders will reopen to everyone bar Victorians after months of strict coronavirus lockdown measures as she moves to stage three of her recovery plan.

"I'm actually surprised that she is opening up the borders to New South Wales and other states bar Victoria," Ms Hanson told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

Despite the announcement, Ms Hanson said the businesses "are still struggling" in the state.

"The big problem now is businesses can't get people to work," Ms Hanson said.

She said it was also a "big mistake" by the premier to keep some country towns shutdown for as long as she has.

"It's going to take a long time before we can recover".
