South Australia will abandon its July 20 border reopening date.

Premier Steven Marshall said he did not feel confident allowing Victorians into SA due to the state's recent surge in coronavirus cases.

SA is already open to travellers from Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and Tasmania.

State authorities said they intended to open borders to the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales but could not confirm when.
