Gambaro Group Managing Director John Gambaro says reopening restaurants and café’s for a maximum of 10 people “won’t make money” but moves along “the right pathway”.

On Friday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison unveiled his three-step plan to reopen Australia which will allow restaurants and café’s to start back up under the National Cabinet’s stage one recovery plan.

Mr Gambaro said his biggest concerns as a business owner are “not about now, but where we will end up”.

Operating a business in the hospitality sector under social distancing measures will be a new experience for everyone involved and Mr Gambaro said it would be important to be able to “prove to the government … the correct processes were in place”.

Sky News host Paul Murray said the “baby step” announced by the prime minister on Friday will “not see an awful lot of people re-employed”.
