The nation “faces its greatest fiscal meltdown in history,” and while Australians have done the right thing and followed the government’s orders premiers still tell us to remain at home says Sky News host Peter Gleeson.

On Friday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison unveiled his three-step plan to reopen Australia, with the initial onus being placed on the reopening of restaurants, cafes and swimming pools.

While “gatherings up to 10 people, and five guests in your own home” will be allowed, Mr Morrison said.

Mr Gleeson said “it’s time for the delays, the obfuscation, the bloody mindedness from political leaders to stop”.

“The time has come for the self-imposed slumber of people like Daniel Andrews to stop”.

“Get the cafes and restaurants open, even with social distancing protocols, so that a semblance of normality can be experienced.

“It’s now a mind game for many people. They want certainty, confidence and clarity. They want a road map for the reopening of society, so that they get on with the job of planning a strategy to trade out of this nightmare.

“Now it’s time for Aussies to get out and show our political masters that we mean business.”
