Sky News host Peter Gleeson says unlike the Labor Party, the Morrison government “is cognisant of not totally destroying our economy (and) our way of life” and won’t impose Italy-style restrictions “unless they absolutely have to”. Mr Gleeson said, “during this terrible virus crisis, it’s been refreshing to see the bipartisanship from both sides of politics”. However, on Wednesday, Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese had provided his harshest criticism, to date, of the Morrison government’s approach towards the coronavirus. Mr Albanese told reporters he believed Scott Morrison was keeping “politics in mind” throughout his coronavirus plans. Mr Gleeson said the Labor leader, along with his “sidekick Chris Bowen” had taken “pot shots” at the Morrison government on the issue. “Flattening the curve can be done without sending the country broke,” Mr Gleeson said.
