Backpass Colorado Rapids are learning that it’s the little details that are unraveling their season

about 5 years in Denver Post

One thing I’ve come to learn from watching altogether too much soccer for the past six years is that the game often comes down to the little things. In a 90 minute match, everything can be calm and controlled and well-organized for 99.8% of a match. And then, all of a sudden, one player makes a bad touch, another player is out of position, and suddenly you’ve conceded the go-ahead goal. A few minutes later, you look up at the scoreboard to find that you've lost, 1-0. It was the great scholar-philosopher Gavin Rossdale and his mid 90's grunge-pop rock band Bush who said it best when he howled that it's the little things that kill.
