Rasmus Meyer (4 June 1858 – 14 January 1916) was a Norwegian merchant and mill owner. He is best known for his art collection.Meyer was born in Bergen, Norway to merchant Gerdt Henrich Meyer (1817-1897) and Kaia Wilhelmine Wold (1831-1864). He graduated from Tanks school in Bergen in 1874 and studied modern mill operations in Germany and trained as a landscape architect. With his father, he built up a new mill at Vaksdal in Hordaland, after a fire in 1890. By the early 1900s, he was running the largest mill in Norway.
