Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka (Zulu pronunciation: [pʰumziːle m̩lamboᵑǀʱuːkʼa]; born 3 November 1955) is an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Executive Director of UN Women. Previously she was a South African politician who was Deputy President of South Africa from 2005 to 2008. She was the first woman to hold the position and at that point the highest ranking woman in the history of South Africa.
