Penelope Mary Mordaunt (born 4 March 1973) is a British Conservative Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Portsmouth North since winning the seat at the 2010 United Kingdom general election.Mordaunt was born in Torquay, Devon and studied philosophy at the University of Reading. Before entering Parliament, she worked in business and communications, working in the private, public and charitable sectors, including as communications director for Kensington and Chelsea Council.
