Warren Kenneth Paxton Jr. (born December 23, 1962), is an American lawyer and politician who is the Attorney General of Texas since January 2015. Paxton won election to the state's top law enforcement job in November 2014 as a champion of the Tea Party movement and conservative principles.For two years beginning in January 2013, Paxton was a Republican member of the Texas Senate representing District 8, which includes the central-western portion of Collin County north of Dallas and parts of surrounding cities such as Allen, Frisco, and McKinney.
